Faridabad, 02 June 2026: A dream took flight at NTPC Faridabad as the station formally inaugurated Girl Empowerment Mission (GEM) 2026, NTPC’s flagship Corporate Social Responsibility initiative dedicated to empowering young girls through education, exposure, life skills, and confidence building.
The programme was inaugurated by Ms. Rashmita Jha(IRS), Chief Vigilance Officer, NTPC Ltd., and presided over by Shri Ashutosh Satpathy, Project Head, NTPC Faridabad. The event was attended by Ms. K. Sreelata, Head of HR, Shri Alok Kumar, CMO, members of Sukriti Mahila Samiti, department heads, CISF officials, school principals, parents, and employees.
Welcoming the gathering, Ms. K. Sreelata highlighted the significance of GEM in shaping confident and capable young girls. She reassured parents that NTPC provides a safe, secure, and nurturing residential environment where every participant’s well-being and development remain the highest priority.
The inauguration featured vibrant cultural performances by Bal Bhawan students and former GEM participants who are now studying at NTPC DAV Public School, showcasing the transformative impact of the programme.
Addressing the participants, Ms. Rashmita Jha encouraged the girls to pursue education with determination, uphold ethical values, and develop self-confidence and leadership qualities. Shri Ashutosh Satpathy emphasized NTPC’s commitment to inclusive growth and women empowerment, motivating the girls to dream big and believe in their potential.
Over the next four weeks, the participants will undergo a transformative residential journey encompassing academics, digital literacy, health and hygiene, sports, arts, life skills, personality development, and leadership training—preparing them to become confident leaders and changemakers of tomorrow.
