Lucknow, 06 January 2026: NTPC Tanda today inaugurated the 07-day Girl Empowerment Mission (GEM) Winter Workshop 2025, scheduled to be conducted from 06 January 2025 to 12 January 2025, reaffirming NTPC’s commitment towards girl child empowerment through education and holistic development.
The opening ceremony was graced by Shri Jayadev Parida, Head of Project (HOP), NTPC Tanda, who emphasized that GEM is a flagship CSR initiative of NTPC, aimed at nurturing confidence, leadership, self-reliance, and academic excellence among young girls. He highlighted that NTPC Tanda has been successfully implementing the GEM programme since 2019–20 and has completed multiple sessions benefitting local communities.
The programme was also attended by Smt. Sanghmitra Parida, President, Garima Mahila Mandal, who motivated the participants to utilize the platform to enhance their skills and self-belief. Shri Ajay Singh Yadav, GM (O&M) spoke about the importance of empowering girls through structured training and exposure programmes.
Other dignitaries present included Smt. Archana Yadav, Vice President, Garima Mahila Mandal, Shri R. N. Tripathi, GM (Fuel Management), Shri Rajnish Kumar Khetan, Head of HR, NTPC Tanda, along with senior officials and members of the organizing committee.
The GEM Winter Workshop 2025 will focus on academic reinforcement, personality development, leadership skills, self-defense training, confidence-building activities, and interactive sessions, benefiting selected girls from nearby government schools.
Through initiatives like GEM, NTPC Tanda continues to contribute towards inclusive growth and women empowerment, aligned with NTPC’s CSR vision and national development goals.
