New Delhi, 29 December 2025: NTPC Vindhyachal inaugurated the Winter Session of the Girl Empowerment Mission (GEM) 2025 at the Regional Learning Institute (RLI), with vibrant enthusiasm and participation.
Shri Sanjib Kumar Saha, CGM (Vindhyachal), graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, in the august presence of senior management comprising Shri A.J. Rajkumar, GM (O&M); Shri S.K. Sinha, GM (Operation & FM); Dr. B.K. Bharali, GM (Medical Services); Shri Debabrata Tripathy, GM (TS); Ms Ruma De Sharma, Head of HR (Vindhyachal); and Shri Rakesh Arora, STA to Director (HR).
The programme witnessed the gracious presence of dignitaries from Suhasini Sangh, including Smt Chitralekha Saha, President; Smt Nishi Sinha, In-charge (Welfare Wing); and Smt Shilpa Kohli, General Secretary. Team members from HR and CSR also attended in strength, including Ms Mrinalini, AGM (HR); Shri Pranav Verma, AGM (HR); Shri Mahtab Alam, DGM (CSR/R&R); Smt Poornima Chaturvedi, Senior Manager (HR); and Shri Nikhil Jaiswal, Executive (CSR), reflecting strong institutional support for the initiative.
The event commenced with the traditional lighting of the lamp followed by the rendition of the NTPC Geet, setting an inspiring tone. Ms Aastha, Coordinator (Heromind Minds), elaborated on the activities planned for the Winter Session, focusing on holistic development, confidence building and life skills. A short film featuring the glimpses of GEM 2025 summer session was also screened.
Welcoming the gathering, Ms Ruma De Sharma, Head of HR (Vindhyachal) highlighted the station’s sustained, vital and impactful contribution towards the GEM program of NTPC. Addressing the participants, Shri Sanjib Kumar Saha remarked that GEM is a transformative initiative that not only shapes the dreams of young girls but also positively influences their families, communities, and the nation at large. The inauguration concluded on a joyful note with a cake-cutting ceremony, visibly reflecting the excitement and optimism prevalent.
