Rishikesh, 16 July 2025: THDC India Limited, a premier Power Sector enterprise has taken a significant step towards enhancing operational transparency and employee welfare measures by entering into an agreement with M/s Balmer Lawrie & Co. Ltd. for the launch of the Standard Self Booking Tool (SSBT).
Shri R K Vishnoi, Chairman and Managing Director, conveyed his heartfelt congratulations on the signing of this MOU and highlighted that THDC India Limited has consistently achieved significant milestones in the power sector, most recently with the commissioning of two units of the 1000 MW Tehri Pumped Storage Plant, India’s first Variable Speed PSP. These achievement stands as a testament to the dedication and commitment of THDCIL’s workforce.
Shri R K Vishnoi further emphasized that THDCIL continues to reinforce its commitment to excellence not only in Power Generation but also in Employee-Centric initiatives and employee welfare measures. Human Resource in THDCIL has been instrumental in launching a series of forward-looking initiatives aimed at enhancing transparency, convenience and seamless access to employees of which the implementation of this Standard Self Booking Tool (SSBT) is a noteworthy example.
This latest initiative reflects THDCIL’s broader vision of leveraging technology to simplify systems, enrich the employee experience, and usher in a new era of digital transformation across the organization.

Shri Shallinder Singh added that this digital platform will streamline air ticket booking for both official and personal journeys of employees and their dependents ensuring cost-effectiveness, flexibility, and seamless accessibility The SSBT platform offers a wide array of employee-friendly features including real-time availability of best fares, zero service and convenience charges, corporate fare benefits, complimentary meals and seat selection as per airline policy, and 24×7 travel assistance.
