New Delhi, 12 December 2024: Shri Rahul Dwivedi, Executive Director (PMD Division), REC Limited, delivered an insightful speech on ‘Progress Under RDSS’ at the 19th Annual Conference on Power Distribution in India by PowerLine. Talking about the RDSS, he said, “One of the primary objectives of RDSS is to reduce Aggregate Technical and Commercial (AT&C) losses. We have achieved a reduction of over 5% in AT&C losses across several states, bringing us closer to our target of 12-15% by 2025. The implementation of smart metering has been a game-changer.
We have successfully installed around 7 million smart meters, which have significantly improved billing accuracy and reduced power theft. This initiative has also empowered consumers with real-time data on their energy consumption.” RDSS scheme has been a transformative initiative aimed at improving the efficiency and reliability of power distribution across India. REC is playing a key role in helping DISCOMs improve their operational efficiencies and financial sustainability.
