New Delhi, 30 September 2026: Oil India Limited organised the live streaming of the India Energy Week 2027 Curtain Raiser at Courtyard by Marriott, Shillong, bringing together representatives from government, industry, academia, start-ups, media and the wider energy ecosystem.
Shri Abhijit Majumder, Director (Finance), OIL, addressed the gathering and highlighted India Energy Week to be held in Kolkata from 28th to 31st January 2027, as an important platform for collaboration, innovation and dialogue on India’s evolving energy landscape.
A panel discussion on MC²+ and the start-up innovation ecosystem featured five start-ups from the North-East, showcasing innovations across food and agriculture, phytochemicals, robotics and AI, electric mobility, and oil-well inspection technologies.
The session explored how pilot sites, mentorship, laboratory access, industry partnerships and first-purchase opportunities can help start-ups progress from innovation to commercial deployment. Participants also discussed challenges around scaling, access to technology, skilled resources, market linkages and real-world pilot opportunities.
The programme highlighted the North-East’s potential in India’s energy innovation ecosystem and the importance of stronger industry-start-up collaboration.
