New Delhi, 07 August 2026: The Cabinet has approved GOBARdhan, India’s National Unified Scheme for Compressed Biogas, with an outlay of Rs 23,731 crore. A solid pillar for India’s clean gas future by creating a single national framework contributing towards 10x increase in production, scientific waste management, energy security and promoting circular economy.
Dr Ranjit Rath, CMD, OIL, conveys the enthusiasm of Oil India Limited on the approval of GOBARdhan, the National Circular Bioenergy Scheme to help build the circular bioeconomy in India, also sharing OIL’s plan for implementing an ambitious programme for establishing 25 CBG Plants across India as a contribution to the initiative.
Oil India Limited is already planning to establish 25 CBG plants across India to convert waste to clean fuel contributing towards energy security.
