Rishikesh, 08 May 2026: The THDC India Limited has announced that Shri Ajay Verma has assumed charge as Executive Director (Vishnugad-Pipalkoti Hydro Electric Project) with effect from May 1. Prior to this elevation, Shri Ajay Verma was serving as Head of Project for the 444 MW Vishnugad-Pipalkoti Hydro Electric Project (VPHEP) since 2023.
His elevation to the post from Chief General Manager to Executive Director follows the recommendation of the company’s Departmental Promotion Committee, the company said in a statement.
A civil engineering professional with over three decades of experience, Verma joined THDCIL in July 1990 as an Engineer (Trainee) and has since held several key roles across rehabilitation, construction, corporate contracts, vigilance, and project planning and quality control.
He has been associated with major projects including the Tehri Dam spillway works and Koteshwar Dam. He also played a key role in the timely commissioning of the Dhukwan Small Hydro Electric Project (3×8 MW) and later handled contracts management and the ash dyke package at the Khurja Super Thermal Power Project (1,320 MW).
