Lucknow, 18 February 2026: NTPC Vindhyachal has proudly dispatched its 100th rake of pond ash to NHAI (Varanasi PIU) for the Ranchi–Varanasi–Kolkata Expressway through the innovative Rail-Cum-Road (RCR) mode — marking a major milestone in sustainable ash utilisation and green logistics.
By maximising rail transport and minimising road movement, the RCR model significantly reduces carbon emissions, fuel consumption, and road congestion — directly contributing to national highway infrastructure while advancing circular economy principles.
The milestone rake was inaugurated on 17 February 2026 by Shri Sanjib Kumar Saha, CGM (Vindhyachal), in the presence of senior leadership.
