Kolkata, 22 January 2026: Shri Achyut Ghatak, Director (Technical), Coal India, Visits Gevra Mine, under the subsidiary South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL). During the visit, Shri Ghatak reviewed production and despatch and shared his inputs for expediting output and enhancing productivity. He also inspected the belt transportation system and the Coal Handling Plant (CHP) at the mine.
It is noteworthy to mention that Gevra is the world’s second-largest and Asia’s largest coal mine. This mine has produced 38 million tonnes of coal so far in the current financial year.
