Lucknow, 19 January 2026: NTPC Tanda successfully organized the closing ceremony of the 7-day Winter Workshop under the GEM (Girl Empowerment Mission) Programme on 18 January 2026 at Sargam Auditorium, NTPC Tanda, under its CSR initiative.
The programme was graced by the august presence of Smt. Chandana Kumari, Senior Member, Sanyukta Mahila Samiti, as the Chief Guest. Addressing the gathering, Smt. Kumari highlighted that education, self-confidence, and safety awareness are the pillars of women empowerment. She appreciated NTPC’s sustained efforts in empowering young girls through structured programmes that focus on holistic development.
She encouraged the GEM Girls to dream big, stay confident, and work hard to achieve self-reliance, stating that initiatives like GEM provide the right direction and support to transform aspirations into reality. She also emphasized the importance of self-discipline, moral values, and continuous learning in shaping responsible citizens and future leaders.
Other dignitaries present on the occasion included Smt. Sanghmitra Parida, President, Garima Mahila Mandal; Smt. Durga Kumari, Member, Sanyukta Mahila Samiti; Smt. Kavita Rao, President, Aprajita Mahila Samiti; and Smt. Anju Jha, Senior Member, Arpita Mahila Mandal, who lauded the initiative and motivated the participants.
During the programme, GEM Girls showcased yoga and self-defence demonstrations and shared their experiences, reflecting the confidence, awareness, and skills gained during the workshop. The cultural segment featured a Ramleela dance-drama, followed by a captivating Kathak performance by artists from Rudra Kala Academy, which was highly appreciated by the audience.
As a token of encouragement and support, bicycles were distributed to all GEM Girls at the conclusion of the programme, reinforcing NTPC’s commitment to education, mobility, and empowerment of the girl child.
The event concluded on a positive note, reaffirming NTPC Tanda’s dedication towards inclusive growth, women empowerment, and community development.
