New Delhi, 05 January 2026: NTPC Vindhyachal commenced its Business Excellence (BE) Assessment with a grand inaugural ceremony at Maitri Sabhagar on January 5, 2026 under the leadership of Shri Sanjib Kumar Saha, CGM (Vindhyachal). The assessment team, led by Shri M. S. Srinivasan, (Quality Champion) and Shri T. R. Rajagopalan, (Senior Assessor) comprised a distinguished panel of assessors including Shri UVVS Srinivasa Rao, Shri Vijay Kumar, Shri Jagdish Lal Bhambi, Shri Ritesh Lal Bhardwaj and Shri Jeevanlal Bhukya whose collective expertise will guide the station’s journey towards higher benchmarks of operational excellence.
The occasion was graced by senior officials including Shri A. J. Rajkumar, GM (O&M); Shri M. Suresh, GM (Maintenance & ADM); Shri S. K. Sinha, GM (Operation & FM); Dr B. K. Bharali, GM (Medical Services) and Ms Ruma De Sharma, Head of HR (Vindhyachal), reflecting strong leadership presence and institutional commitment. Heads of departments, members of BE task force were also present on the occasion.
The programme began with ceremonial lamp lighting, the rendition of the NTPC Geet and a warm welcome to the dignitaries. In his address, Shri Sanjib Kumar Saha highlighted the station’s pivotal role in India’s energy landscape and underscored the importance of leveraging assessors’ insights to further enhance performance, efficiency and sustainability.
A corporate film presenting a glimpse covering environmental initiatives, CSR interventions and employee-centric facilities set the context for detailed presentations. Shri Ram Sewak Jaiswal, DGM (EEMG), showcased the station’s performance and innovations, with special emphasis on the pioneering Carbon-to-Methanol (CTM) project, reinforcing NTPC’s leadership in sustainable energy solutions.
Adding the people and community dimension, Smt Kamna Sharma, DGM (HR), highlighted Vindhyachal’s progressive HR initiatives, employee well-being measures, leadership development efforts and impactful community outreach programmes, including the Girl Empowerment Mission (GEM 2025). Short films on the CTM project and the station’s initiatives for the contractual workforce, Shram Ki Roshni, further showcased the inclusive and holistic approach.
Appreciating the warm hospitality and the passion of the Vindhyachal team, Shri M. S. Srinivasan remarked that excellence is a continuous journey with constant scope for improvement. The event, anchored by Ms Piyusha, DGM (BE) concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr M. R. Shaiju, AGM (BE), reflecting the commitment to continual improvement process and excellence in Business operations.
