New Delhi, 13 March 2025: The 54th National Safety Week at NTPC Kudgi successfully concluded on March 11, 2025, reaffirming the organization’s unwavering commitment to workplace safety. Observed from March 4 to March 11, 2025,this year’s theme, “Safety and Well-being: Crucial for Viksit Bharat,” highlighted the role of safety in national development. The event was marked by enthusiastic participation and a shared dedication to fostering a secure work environment.
The ceremony began with the lighting of the lamp, followed by the NTPC Geet, led by Chief Guest Shri Bidya Nand Jha, Executive Director, NTPC Kudgi in the presence of esteemed dignitaries, including Smt. Anju Jha (President, Mitali Mahila Samiti), Shri Santosh Tiwari (GM-O&M), Shri Alokesh Banerjee (GM-Project), Shri U.K. Jain (GM-C&M), Shri Kalia S. Moorthy (HoHR), Shri Raj Borwanker (CMO), the Deputy Commandant (CISF), and the Principal of BBPS.
The event was attended by NTPC executives, contract workers, and CISF personnel, all of whom play a crucial role in the plant’s operations and security. Shri Bidya Nand Jha highlighted the need for a zero-accident workplace, stressing that safety must always be the top priority.
Two special Nukkad Nataks, performed by contract workers, highlighted the importance of safety measures, including the use of helmets, safety kits, and jackets. The performances conveyed key messages : Wearing PPE is essential to prevent injuries and achieve zero harm and work should not be rushed or done under pressure, as it may lead to accidents.
The event featured an award ceremony honoring 151 individuals, including executives and contract workers, for their dedication to safety. Shri Bidya Nand Jha concluded the program by emphasizing the importance of vigilance and prioritizing safety to support India’s vision of becoming a “Viksit Bharat” by 2047.
The week-long celebration reinforced NTPC Kudgi’s commitment to a strong safety culture, emphasizing the role of every individual in ensuring a safe work environment.
