New Delhi, 04 December 2024: GAIL Training Institute in collaboration with the AMPP India Chapter is conducting a specialized training program “Strengthening of Cathodic Protection System in Design, Construction & Commissioning and Welding Practices,” from 2-4 December 2024 for the executives of GAIL.
The program was inaugurated by Shri Deepak Gupta, Director (Projects) in the presence of Shri A.K. Tripathi, ED (Projects), Shri Sanjay Agarwal, ED (Training) and Shri A K Tewari, Chairman AMPP India.
Speaking on the occasion, Shri Deepak Gupta highlighted that corrosion failure in underground pipelines is a significant global issue that can lead to leaks, environmental contamination, and costly repairs. He stressed the importance of the Cathodic Protection System in preventing pipeline corrosion, thereby maintaining an uninterrupted natural gas supply to drive the sustainable economic growth of the country’s evolving energy landscape.
This program will help the GAIL Engineers understand the values and importance of the role of Cathodic Protection for a robust pipeline integrity management system.
