New Delhi, 28 August 2024: The International Conference & Exhibition on Non-Destructive Examination (ICENDE-2024) was organised by ASNT-India Chapter from 22nd to 24th August 2024 at Hyderabad. Shri M K Asthana, ED (QA&I) delivered the keynote address on “Quality Challenges in Super Critical & Ultra Super Critical Boilers” at the inaugural ceremony.
More than 200 experts working in NDT from various industries, scientists & researchers from reputed R&D organisations, and NDT equipment manufacturers from across the globe participated and presented their technical papers at the event.
Five NTPC Executives were also selected for presentation of their technical papers in this conference:
• “RLA of Power cycle piping in NTPC Units and prevention of catastrophic failure by NDE” – Shri U S Rao, DGM (CQA) and Shri Aditya Gupta, DGM (CQA).
• “Cracking of Low-Pressure Steam Turbine Rotor Groves – Experiences and Countermeasures from 500 MW Power Generation Units” by Shri K P Pradhan, Sr Manager (CQA) and Bikash Chowdhary, Sr Manager (CQA).
• “Technical Paper on Aspects of Ultrasonic Testing: Practical and theoretical Insights of Power Plant Components Evaluation – Beyond the basics” by Shri R S Pangety (DGM-CQA), Shri Manan Sharma (DGM-CQA), Shri Vivek Kr Upadhyay (DGM-CQA) and Shri Aditya Gupta (DGM-CQA).
• “Problem of Proxy Radiography of weld Joints and its Solutions” by Shri Vikas Pratap Singh, Sr Manager (QA) Nuclear Cell.
• Analysis of Jet Grouting Performance in Heterogeneous Alluvial Deposits by Shri A C Joshi, DGM(FQA) – NTPC Koldam.
During the Felicitation ceremony, Shri M K Asthana was felicitated by Shri Neil Couture, CEO, ASNT for his unwavering commitment, exceptional dedication and invaluable contributions to the Industry and Society in the domain of Non-Destructive Examination. The three-day conference also featured exhibition of latest developments in NDT techniques by 35 Equipment Manufacturers and 67 International/National papers, and Keynote lectures from eminent organisations such as ISRO, IIT, Homi Bhabha Research Institute, IGCAR, NTPC, CSIR, MIDHANI, ASNT, QATAR SHELL, SAUDI ARAMCO etc.
