New Delhi, 31 July 2024: NTPC Ltd. participated in commemoration of the historic 1911 IFA Shield victory at Mohun Bagan Athletic Club on 29th July 2024 in Kolkata. The 113th Raising Day, celebrated the Indian players’ triumph over the East Yorkshire Regiment, symbolising national pride and the spirit of independence. NTPC Ltd. reaffirmed its dedication to promoting football by sponsoring exhibition football match featuring former players.
The event was graced by Shri Sudip Nag, RED (East-I) along with Shri Samiran Sinha Ray, RHOHR (NR) and Shri Anil Kumar Chawla, RHOHR (East-I). In his address, Shri Sudip Nag, emphasized NTPC’s commitment: “We believe in the transformative power of sports. NTPC is dedicated to nurturing talent and creating opportunities for the next generation.”
The event also honoured cricket legend Sourav Ganguly with the Mohun Bagan Ratna award. NTPC’s collaboration with Mohun Bagan highlights its ongoing efforts in promoting sports and empowering future athletes.
