New Delhi, 03 October 2026: In a significant achievement for NHPC’s 2,000 MW Subansiri Lower Hydroelectric Project (Arunachal Pradesh/Assam), the 395 MT Generator Stator of Unit No. 7 was successfully lowered. The critical operation was accomplished through meticulous planning, precision engineering and seamless coordination among all stakeholders, marking significant progress in the electro-mechanical works of the project. This activity will pave the way for further assembly of the Generator Stator in the Unit Pit and subsequent commissioning of Unit No.7
On this occasion, Shri Bhupender Gupta, CMD, NHPC, congratulated the entire Subansiri Lower Project team, led by Shri Pradip Kumar Ray, Executive Director & Head of Project, along with the executing agency, GE Vernova, on this significant achievement.
With this achievement, the project has moved closer to commissioning its full installed capacity of 2,000 MW (8 × 250 MW). The successful completion of this critical activity reflects the steady progress being made towards the full operationalization of this nationally important hydropower project.
