Rishikesh, 12 March 2024: Shri R K Vishnoi, Chairman and Managing Director, THDC India Limited announced another significant milestone with the successful lowering of Rotor (250 MW, weight: 490 Ton) in the Generator Pit of Unit-07 (3rd Unit) of 1000 MW Tehri Pumped Storage Plant on 8th March, 2024.
The accomplishment of this significant milestone marks a notable achievement for THDCIL, bringing us one step closer to the realization of the nation’s first Variable Speed Pumped Storage Project of 1000 MW capacity. Shri RK Vishnoi congratulated the entire team of PSP, acknowledging their dedication and efforts towards the execution of this project. He emphasized the paramount importance of this achievement, underscoring its importance towards the complete operation of the 2400 MW Tehri Power Complex.
During this prestigious event, Shri Bhupender Gupta, Director(Technical), Shri LP Joshi, Executive Director (Tehri Complex & Arunachal Pradesh Projects),Shri A R Gairola, General Manager (PSP-Civil), Dr. A N Tripathi (GM- HR&A), other senior officials of THDCIL , M/s GEPIL and M/s HCC were present.
Shri Bhupender Gupta, Director (Technical) during his address to Team PSP commended the efforts of entire PSP team and said that this achievement has set the stage for the Tehri Power Complex to advance into its next phases of development.
