Kolkata, 28 March 2026: The Coal India Limited, Chairman, Shri B. Sairam, visited to Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL), and the LB Valley Coalfields. He inspected mining operations at Samleswari, Integrated Lakhanpur -Belpahar- Lilari (ILBL) and Lajkura OCPs and took stock of coal evacuation infrastructure, including Coal Handling Plant (CHP), Rapid Loading System, and railway lines.
The Chairman also inspected coal stockyards and the Ib Valley Non-Coking Coal Washery – the largest washery of Coal India, and reviewed the progress of the under-construction 10 MW solar power plant at Lakhanpur Area.
Later, he chaired a meeting with the concerned Area General Managers, where mine-wise operations, expansion plans, and key performance indicators (KPIs) were comprehensively reviewed. The discussions placed strong emphasis on addressing issues pertaining to production and coal supply logistics. Shri Sairam was accompanied by Shri Uday A. Kaole, CMD, MCL, along with senior management of MCL and Coal India.
