New Delhi, 17 March 2026: The concluding session of the 1st Regional Workshop of UiWIN brought together policymakers, urban development experts and city leaders to reflect on key takeaways from the two-day workshop on strengthening urban infrastructure financing and investment readiness.
Shri Sanjay Kulshrestha, CMD, HUDCO, chaired the session and emphasised the importance of building a strong pipeline of bankable urban infrastructure projects. He shared that UiWIN will support cities in project preparation, financial structuring and accessing diverse funding sources.
Presentations by Ms. Vasudha Thawakar, Senior Urban Development Specialist, World Bank, and Mr. Abedalrazq F. Khalil, Practice Manager – Urban, Resilience and Land Group (South Asia), World Bank, delivered insights on strengthening urban investment ecosystems and global perspectives on resilient infrastructure financing.
The panel discussion featured M. Nagaraj (HUDCO), L. Madhubalan (Tiruchirappalli Municipal Corporation), M. Sivaguru Prabhakaran (Coimbatore Municipal Corporation) and Rahul N. (AMRUT, Government of Kerala), focusing on opportunities, challenges and experiences in unlocking infrastructure growth in Tier II and Tier III cities.
The session concluded with active engagement from city officials and participants, who raised questions and shared positive feedback on the UiWIN initiative and its potential to support investment-ready urban infrastructure projects.
