Coal Secretary Inaugurated All India Public Sector Cricket Tournament 2025-26 at Kolkata

Kolkata, 10 March 2026: Smt. Rupinder Brar, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Coal; Shri Manoj Kumar Gangeya, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Coal; our Director (HR), Dr. Vinay Ranjan; Director (Technical), Shri Achyut Ghatak; and CVO, Shri Brajesh Kumar Tripathy inaugurated the All India Public Sector Cricket Tournament 2025–26, hosted by Coal India, by unveiling the trophy at the 22 Yards School of Cricket Ground in Kolkata.

Speaking on the occasion, Smt. Rupinder Brar, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Coal said that sports bring out the best in individuals and help them discover their inner talent.

In his opening remarks, our Director (HR), Dr. Vinay Ranjan, extended a warm welcome to all participating teams and highlighted Coal India’s continued commitment to promoting sports by organising such events.

Our Director (Technical), Shri Achyut Ghatak, said that cricket is a sport that unites every Indian despite the country’s many diversities, fostering a sense of belongingness and promoting patriotism.

Our CVO, Shri Brajesh Kumar Tripathy, noted that sportsmanship teaches individuals to accept failures in life and inspires to fight back.

The tournament, being held from 9th to 17th March 2026, is witnessing the participation of players from 15 public sector companies.

Senior management from Coal India and its subsidiaries were also present on the occasion.
