Rishikesh, 10 June 2025: To cultivate purpose-driven leadership and empower its senior executives with future-ready strategic insights, THDC India Limited a premier power generation PSU, in collaboration with IMS Ghaziabad, organized a two-day immersive workshop titled “Leading with Purpose: Strategic Leadership in the Modern Age” in the spiritually enriching city of Puri, Odisha.
Sh. R. K. Vishnoi, Chairman and Managing Director, THDCIL, lauded the initiative and emphasized its critical relevance in today’s fast-evolving leadership ecosystem. He stated that, “The future of leadership lies in harmonizing innovation with integrity, and foresight with empathy. Initiatives like this are vital to prepare our leaders to navigate complexity with purpose and contribute meaningfully to THDCIL’s journey of sustainable excellence and nation-building.”
The workshop was inaugurated by Sh. Shallinder Singh, Director (Personnel), THDCIL, who addressed the participants and underscored the strategic importance of the initiative. In his remarks, he noted that “This program is a step towards building a leadership culture anchored in purpose, agility, and resilience. As leaders, we must not only adapt to change but actively shape it—guided by empathy, ethics, and strategic vision.”
Curated as a leadership retreat rather than a conventional training program, the workshop featured an experiential learning approach, integrating introspection, real-world simulations, and collaborative dialogue. Participants had the privilege of engaging with eminent thought leaders—Dr. Virendra P. Singh and Dr. Prasoon M. Tripathi—who brought rich insights from both academia and industry.
Sessions explored contemporary leadership themes including transformational and servant leadership, AI-driven decision-making, coaching techniques, and strategic foresight frameworks—each designed to equip THDCIL leaders for the demands of the modern business environment. A total of 24 participants from various departments attended the workshop, engaging actively in the dynamic learning environment.
Set against the spiritually resonant backdrop of Shree Jagannath Dham, the architectural marvel of Konark, and the tranquil shores of Puri, the workshop also offered space for reflection and personal renewal—fostering not just professional development, but holistic leadership growth.
The successful execution of this workshop underscores THDCIL’s ongoing commitment to developing leadership excellence and strategic capability within its ranks. While the program was hosted outside the organization’s premises—in the spiritually enriching city of Puri—it was meticulously facilitated and coordinated by THDC’s training centre i.e., Takshshila: Sustainable Livelihood and Community Development Centre, THDCIL’s state-of-the-art HRD facility based in Rishikesh. Known for its cutting-edge infrastructure, serene learning environment, and future-focused training modules, Takshshila plays a central role in driving the organization’s learning and development initiatives of national and international repute.
The centre continues to serve as a national platform for advanced skill development, not just within THDCIL but across CPSUs and private organizations, blending technical training with holistic growth to build a resilient, future-ready workforce.
