Talcher, 14 May 2025: NTPC Talcher Kaniha inaugurated the Girl Empowerment Mission (GEM) 2025, a month-long initiative aimed at empowering 120 girls from 25 neighbouring village schools.
The program, running from 13th May to 10th June, 2025, is designed to provide holistic development through education, skill-building, and personal growth. The inauguration ceremony commenced with a welcome address by Shri Navneet Kumar, HOHR, who extended a warm welcome to all attendees, including school principals, parents, and guests.
Distinguished guests at the event included Shri Arindam Sinha, RED (ER-II), who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, Smt. Rupali Sinha, President of Vasudha Mahila Mandal, Shri K. Narasimha Reddy, ED, NTPC Talcher Kaniha, and other officials from NTPC.
Shri K. Narasimha Reddy expressed gratitude to all participants and supporters of the GEM 2025 initiative, acknowledging their contributions to the program’s success.
Shri Arindam Sinha, RED (ER-II) emphasised the importance of initiatives like GEM in empowering girls and breaking societal barriers. He expressed gratitude to NTPC for supporting such transformative programs.
The ceremony also featured the unveiling of a CSR comic book by RED (ER-II) aimed at educating young minds about social issues and the importance of community development. Mementos were presented to the previous years GEM students as tokens of appreciation and encouragement. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by the AGM (HR), expressing gratitude to all participants and supporters of the GEM 2025 initiative.
